During lockdown in spring 2020, Frenell’s managing directors Martin Selig and Dr.Ing. Max Mertins started developing youvee to offer a technical solution against the global pandemic. The engineers, with over 15 years of industrial experience in the areas of ventilation technology and architecture developed youvee. The project was created off the back of increased demand by the public for an innovative air cleaning system that is both effective and stylish.
For decades, air purifiers were just doing it's job. However with the rising threats of airborne viruses, air purifiers have become an integral part of daily life. With that, not only demand for smart technologies but also for better design arose.
The profound expertise of Max and Martin were incorporated into the technology, design, and production process of youvee.

Martin Selig
CEO of FRENELL GmbH
As Chief Executive Officer, Martin Selig is responsible for business development and overall strategy at FRENELL since 2015. Before that, he was significantly involved in the worldwide implementation of the Fresnel-Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technology.
Dr. Max Mertins
CTO of FRENELL GmbH
As Chief Technology Officer of FRENELL, Max is responsible for all research and development activities of the company. Max holds a doctorate in CSP technology from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
Jann Kirchberger
CEO of youvee GmbH
Since May 2021, Jann Kirchberger has been appointed CEO of youvee. He is responsible for sales, marketing, product development, production and administration. He has also been responsible for the operational business of Frenell as Chief Operating Officer (COO) since January 2020.
